Author and DevOps Thought Leader

Gene is a multiple award winning CTO, researcher and author. He was founder and CTO of Tripwire for 13 years. He has written three books, including The Phoenix Project: A Novel About IT, DevOps, and Helping Your Business Win, The Visible Ops Handbook and the newly-released The DevOps Handbook.

Gene has been studying high performing technology organizations since 1999. He is a huge fan of IT operations, and how it can enable developers to maximize throughput of features from “code complete” to “in production,” without causing chaos and disruption to the IT environment. He has worked with some of the top Internet companies on improving deployment flow and increasing the rigor around IT operational processes.

In 2007, ComputerWorld added Gene to the “40 Innovative IT People Under The Age Of 40” list, and he was given the Outstanding Alumnus Award by the Department of Computer Sciences at Purdue University for achievement and leadership in the profession.

Before joining XebiaLabs, Derek served as EVP of Sales at Telerik through their acquisition by Progress Software, President of SmartBear Software, and VP of Sales at IMCEDA, now Quest Software.

Tony Wilmer

Lead DevOps Pipeline Engineer, Digital Globe

Tony Wilmer is the Lead DevOps Pipeline Engineer at DigitalGlobe Inc. He has over 20 years of experience in deploy and release automation. Tony joined Digital Globe in 2004. Since then he has led the teams that designed and implemented multiple evolutions of the CI/CD Software Pipeline. The latest DevOps evolution of this pipeline automates the deployments of hundreds of microservices that fly, task and deliver imagery from DigitalGlobe's newest WorldView-4 satellite.

Tim Buntel is responsible for product management and evangelism. He has been involved with software product management, strategy, and marketing for more than 20 years at companies including Atlassian, Adobe, Microsoft, and Allaire with an emphasis on developer tools and platforms. He is also a longtime startup mentor and advisor, and public speaker at industry events worldwide.

Stefan Simenon

Head of COE Tooling & COE Software Development, ABN AMRO Bank N.V.

Stefan Simenon studied Physics & Information Technology. He has been working in IT at ABN AMRO since 1997 and has held a wide range of roles, including programming, testing, designing, project management, service delivery management, global service delivery, service management and vendor management. Stefan has been Head of COE Tooling & COE Software Development since 2014 and is currently responsible for Tools, Software Quality and CI/CD implementation with ABN AMRO.

Stefan is passionate about topics such as Continuous Integration, Software Quality, DevOps and deployment management, and the management of the cultural, organizational, team and technological changes associated with these approaches.

Andrew Phillips

VP DevOps Strategy, XebiaLabs

Andrew Phillips heads up DevOps strategy at XebiaLabs. Andrew is a recognized thought leader in the DevOps, Cloud and Delivery Automation space. He is a frequent speaker at DevOps conferences worldwide, is a co-author of the IT Manager’s Guide to Continuous Delivery and has published many articles in publications such as DevOps Magazine, DZone, InfoQ, CM Crossroads and SD Times. He also contributes to a number of open source projects including Apache clouds, the leading cloud library.

Tom Larrow

DevOps Automation Engineer, KeyBank

Tom took a long meandering career path through television, video game development, motorsports, and manufacturing before ending up as the Deployment and Delivery lead on the KeyBank DevOps team. Key Bank was the first top-15 bank to run their online banking platform in Kubernetes, and Tom writes the continuous integration and delivery scripts to deploy it to all environments. He is always tinkering and breaking things, and improving the process by putting things back together in new ways.

Ting Cosper is leading the DevOps journey at Freedom Mortgage Co. Long before continuous integration was a hot topic, he was designing and building both Microsoft and Novell networks. He was an innovator in the computer systems validation field at Bristol Myers Squibb and eventually moved into the operational space at TD Bank, where he focused on Internet Banking and Enterprise Availability. Amy Johnston is Product Manager for XL Deploy, XebiaLabs' deployment automation solution. Amy brings nearly 15 years of experience working on software across a variety of industries, from banking to telecomm. At XebiaLabs, she plays a key role in developing the feature roadmap for XL Deploy and working closely with customers to validate new features. Amy also supports Scrum teams in their day-to-day development.
